Complexity, Heterodox and Identity Economics

The world of economics is vast and much of my research extends into interdisciplinary work that combines economics, history, identity, sociology, and culture studies with computer-based simulations and network analysis.

Border and Hispanic Studies

A central theme in my ongoing work is the role of border areas in national and global issues. I regularly research Mexico-U.S. connections and use this to further my research on borders throughout the Americas.

Gender and Indigenous Rights

Embedded within my theoretical orientation and research interests is an ongoing desire to highlight the role of women, and in particular indigenous women, in local, national and international issues.

Rhetoric and Persuasion in Economics

This is a recent field for me as I begin to understand how important language is in conveying meaning and persuading individuals of the validity of economics theory.
